Thanks everyone for sending along the good vibes.
I am including an itinerary here and will try to continue to do so a week at a time in advance until I can figure out how to get my map linked in. Here is my first weeks plan, beginning Saturday the 12th of January.
Day 1: Denver > Las Cruces, New Mexico
2. Las Cruces, NM > Vail Arizona (Just miles SE of Tucson, AZ)
3. Vail, AZ > Yuma, AZ (260 miles due west of Tucson, AZ)
4. Yuma, AZ > Chula Vista, California (175 miles due west of Yuma)
5. Chule Vista, CA > San Quintin, Baja California Norte, Mexico ( Tijuana Border crossing)
6. San Qunitin, > San Ignacio, Baja California Sur, Mexico
Day 1 is about 700 miles and the longest riding day planned for the entire trip. (in the event of poor riding weather, I will trailer the bike for this section).
Day 2 and 3 are pretty light days as I want to ride around and into the Sonoran desert for a bit.
Hopefully I will get to see my nephew on the 4th day.
Day 5 is a short ride of 200 miles but its ridden through a heavily populated region, and all that goes with it), so I have been told, all the way to Ensenada, (about half way to my first stop in San Quintin). So the plan is to beat it out of the Border crossing in Tijuana and stay out in front of everybody, all the way to San Quintin. No Stops.
Day 6 will take me out of Baja Norte and into Baja Sur. Crossing a Military checkpoint near Guerrero Negro, I will roll into what most folks call the best of Baja. I am told there are places here where you can take in the Mountains, the Sea of Cortez, and the Pacific all in one sweeping view. I have plans to settle here for the 6th night: http://www.ignaciosprings.com
